With his appointment as Organist of France’s Royal Chapel at the Palace of Versailles, Jean-Baptiste Robin was given an enviable and distinguished place in a long line of royal organists (Couperin, Marchand, and Daquin) as “court musician.” Robin’s playing most certainly mirrors and matches the opulence and grandeur of that world-renowned building. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished French organists, master teachers, and composers of his generation (with over 150 new works to his credit), Mr. Robin also serves as Professor of Organ at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Regional in Versailles. |

About His Performances
Perfect clarity and virtuosity. The Bach chorales were a highly emotional moment, with notes like tears and the soul of the audience totally at peace. This concert was synonymous with perfection.”
(Le Figaro, Paris)
“A talented young fellow with exceptional keyboard technique and a virtuosic delivery.”
(Michael Barone, Pipedreams)
“Mr. Robin, a protégé of the great French organist/scholar Marie-Claire Alain, plays stylishly and well.”
(Scott Cantrell, The Dallas Morning News)
“Jean-Baptiste Robin performed one of the most beautiful recitals in the history of the Haarlem Organ Festival at St. Bavo − his is a name never to forget.”
(Haarlem Magazine, Holland)
About His Recordings
“I admire this organ transcription (Debussy’s Ma Mère l’Oye), and again Robin uses a highly
imaginative registration of stops to generate sounds that make the music come alive. The disc
concludes with a powerful work by Jean-Baptiste Robin titled The Hands of Time which fully
demonstrates this instrument’s expressive range and impressive brawn.”
(Jean-Yves Duperron, Classical Music Sentinel, Canada, May 2020)
“A brilliant performer and a composer of significant, substantial music. [He] played with ease of
control and virtuosity that did not draw undue attention to itself.”
(The American Organist, 2010)
“To hear a well-preserved E.M. Skinner in a grand room…is always a thrill, but in the hands of
Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Robin we are dealing with the truly extraordinary. Robin plays with daring,
verve, and with unflinching attention to colouristic detail. The result is a triumph.”
(Chris Bragg, July/August 2015 Choir & Organ Magazine, on “The American Symphonic Organ” CD)
“Robin demonstrates outstanding artistic command and technical control, while emphasizing the
organ’s decadently rich palette of colors. His kaleidoscopic registrational color is neither
excessive nor distracting, but is rather symphonic in scope and dramatically engaging. Vivid colors
abound. This is a first-rate recording.”
(Michael Unger, May/June 2015 American Record Guide, on “The American Symphonic Organ” CD)
